December 16th 2010 - Melcal Marine to supply crane for LARS system
Melcal Marine is currently collaborating with Sweden based Lidan Marine for the supply of one FL36T1 foldable knuckle boom crane for a crane based LARS system.
The LARS manufactured by Lidan Marine AB is to handle OBS ROVs with a TMS unit. The Melcal Marine FL36T1 for this project has been designed with a dynamic factor 3 and will operate offshore in sea state conditions up to 5, with a SWL of 2 tons at 4 meters. The crane based LARS system will have full documentation package including ATEX, CE and DNV standard for certification no. 2.7-3 certificates.
Managing Director of Melcal Marine Filippo Acquaro says “From our side, this is not a complex project, the interesting thing is that we are always excited in collaborating with industry leaders, like Lidan Marine, that have collected a great experience in creating specific tailor made winch and handling systems that meet specific client needs. These projects give us the opportunity to prove that there is a difference between truck mounted marine cranes manufactured in series and tailor made marine cranes for specific “one of” projects.”
